This book is the synthesis of what I’ve learned in 14 years as editor-in-chief of Chicken Soup for the Soul, reading tens of thousands of stories from people who bare their souls and talk about what works and what doesn’t work in their lives. I’m excited to share some great examples of what DOES work in this collection, and today I’m going to talk about the importance of getting outside in nature. I think the number of stories that we receive about the benefits of being outside has gone up—probably because the pandemic has caused people to focus more on what they can do safely and what they can do while at home—and they’ve rediscovered the outdoors.
