Ya’akov runs “Heaven’s Gate”, a small, run-down synagogue in Jerusalem, under threat of closure from the big synagogue nearby. On Yom Kippur, Ya’akov gathers worshippers for the "Neilah" service, only to discover the (deaf) warden asleep behind a locked door. Ya’akov will stop at nothing to open the door to start the service.
