Joel McCray grew up in Riesel, TX, just outside of Waco. He started playing the piano when he was 18-months old. He studied piano from his mother, Ruby H. McCray, from 1976 - 1988. He moved to Arlington, TX in 1988 on a track scholarship from the University of Texas at Arlington, where he graduated with a BBA in Finance in 1992 and NCAA, All-America status in track.

Joel McCray, producer for 2011 Dove Award Nominee, Beverley Moore, has 7 personal projects that he has completed: New Beginnings (2000), Worship 2001 - "He Reigns", Song For You (2003), Merry Christmas to You (2003), Christmas Joy (2008), “The Invitation” (2011), a collaborative project with smooth-jazz saxophonist, Joseph Vincelli. and “Sing the Word! ¡Cante La Palabra!” (2011), a musical, Bible verse, learning CD co-produced with his wife, Bridget.

Joel has produced over 30 projects and has performed on over 40 projects. The Lord has been really good to him and has allowed him to play alongside some really awesome artists and musicians. They include, Yolanda Adams, Kirk Franklin, Myron Butler, Fred Hammond, Vernard Johnson, Angella Christie, Marvin Sapp, Beau Williams, Jamar Jones, Virtue, bassist - Chuck Smith (Kim Burrell, Dorinda Clark-Cole), drummer - J.T. (Roy Hargrove), guitarist - Todd Parsnow (Pieces of A Dream, Roy Hargrove), & producer/organist/keyboardist - Bobby Sparks (Kirk Franklin, Marcus Miller), etc. The list goes on.

Since 1988, Joel has had the opportunity to serve in music ministry at a number of great churches including, Cornerstone Baptist Church, Arlington; Crossroads Christian Church, Grand Prairie; Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship, Dallas; Pilgrim Valley, Ft. Worth; and Grace Temple SDA, Ft. Worth.
Joel currently serves as the founder and director of J & B Music Ministries, director, writer and arranger for Zamar, the band, and managing director of Truli Media Group. J & B Music Ministries, assist artists in music production and musician/ministers training. Truli Media Group exists to provide access to the world’s largest repository of family- friendly, faith-based Christian content, media, music and TV programming and provide a platform for collaborative, social networking for the Christian community.

Joel lives in Arlington with his wife, business partner, and best friend, of 12 years, Bridget, and their children, Nicholas and Jada.
