Have we as a society been able to truly define what healthy really means?

I've heard comments like:

"It's about how you feel rather than how you look"

"Is not gauged by our outward appearance" are dubbed to believe, through the power of the media, that healthy is thin and covered in makeup. This visual assessment of what healthy is couldn’t be further from the truth.  It looks healthy on the outside, it must be healthy. NOT!

There is a thing called "skinny fat." 'Skinny fat' can be very dangerous to your health. This is where the fat may not show on the outside, but it attaches to the organs on the inside and wreaks havoc causing diabetes, insulin resistance, heart disease and the like.

Exercise and a controlled diet is necessary to keep visceral fat at bay.

We've seen a radical change in the way we view health today. There is a plethora of diets and regimes that one incorporates, as well as a myriad of exercise plans and programs. Who's right? Who's wrong? 

In all actuality healthy comes in all shapes and sizes, thoughts and perspectives.

At the end of the day, we're all unique; complex and wonderfully made. Created within each of us is the voice of good and evil, truth and lies. Close out the noise and listen to that small voice that guides you in all that you do. 

The world will continue to grow busier and busier. Pause long enough to hear your vibrant, healthy side that gives you strength, energy and joy to be the best you that you can be. As you listen, you will know what healthy truly means.
