II Corinthians 5:17-18 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
v. 18 And all things are of God, who hath reconcile us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
Our heavenly Father made mankind - spirit, soul, and body. He made us male and female to rule over the earth and then gave us dominion. Now, we are new creatures in Christ. The real you is your spirit man, not your fleshly body. The soul (your mind, will, emotions, intellect, and imagination) is the turnstile which allows or disallows the spiritual flow of heaven in your life.
II Corinthians 5:17 says,…old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. What does this mean? The truth is, that when you received salvation, your spirit and soul were made brand new (ref. soul - Psalm 23:3). You were filled with the life, love, and light of God, which is the atmosphere of heaven. We are heaven on earth right now! So, how do we release the atmosphere of heaven into our lives for good and then allow it to flow into the lives of others?
Let’s briefly view (behold) this truth from the purity (I John 3:2-3) of Life (I John 5:11), Love (Romans 5:5) and Light (I John 1:5). All three have their source in our heavenly Father and his purity fills our spirits and souls. He is Life. He is Love and He is Light.
Now, let’s make it personal. Since you are a new creature in Christ, your spirit is aligned by the Holy Spirit. Whenever you allow your soul to submit to his alignment, the life, love, and light of God’s truth, power, glory, kingdom revelation, etc. will flow from your spirit into your soul.
As you intentionally give of yourself to hear, receive, rest in and meditate on the revelation, wisdom, and knowledge of our heavenly Father, you receive understanding and further insight. Applying what you have learned, changes how you think, hear, and see the world around you. You allow the words you speak and the actions you take to be directed by the Holy Spirit. Your view of yourself and the world around you changes as you seek to strengthen your relationship with the Holy Spirit, the Lord Jesus Christ, and your heavenly Father through fellowship.
How do we release heaven on earth? Jesus Christ was our example of rest in the midst of a chaotic world. He showed us how to live, walk, and demonstrate the wisdom of his Father by faith. From the position of spiritual rest, his anointing flowed to heal and deliver all who believed in him. The Word of power we speak from the position of God's rest changes us first, then flows out into our lives and the world around us.
